EGYPT 99-Luxor-Valley of the Kings

After breakfast we crossed the Nile to the west bank to visit The Valley of the Kings. The valley is where all the Egypt pharoahs from the 16th to 11th century BC were buried. The valley is known to contain 63 tombs, including the famous tomb of Tutankhamun, which was discovered intact in 1922. All the treasures of the tomb of Tutankhamun are now kept in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. All the other tombs have been robbed before modern archaeological excavation.

I probably visited a handful of tombs but based on external references I can only tagged some of the photographs to the Tomb of Thotmosis III and Rameses VI. The rest of the photographs are either taken in these two tombs or other tombs.

The walls of the burial chamber of the Rameses VI, where there is to be found a broken sarcophagus, are painted with illustrations from the Book of the Earth, while the astronomical ceiling have decorations from the Book of the Day and the Book of the Night.
