NEPAL 99-Trek Day 4-Dovan to Machapurchare Base Camp (03/12/99)

Today is a steady climb from Dovan to Machpurchare Base Camp (3,700m). As we climbed higher, the landscape changes from lush forest to alphine land. Unfortunately the weather deteriorated and heavy clouds began to cover the sky, a sharp contrast to the sunny weather in the previous few days.

The valley narrows as we trek closer towards the Annapurna Sanctuary. The sky was completed covered by heavy clouds.

Only limited vegetation can grow at such high altitude. Hence huge rocks are common sight on the valley slopes.
